Hoback River Open Season: April 1 – October 31. Runoff season typically runs from mid-May through the first half of July during which time the river is unfishable. Best Time of Year to Fish: End of run-off through September. During the Salmon Fly hatch Best Time of Day to Fish: Midday Species: Snake River Fine-spotted Cutthroat Trout Access: Lots of easy access (more than can be shown on the map) along Route 189/191.
