Although we had a pretty good amount of rain earlier in the week, which caused the tributaries to rise and go off color, this has all been flushed through, and everything is dropping again. Snake River Report – 7.28.2011

This is still more of a water update than a fishing report for the Snake, but it is certainly the most promising one so far this summer. The Bureau of Rec has cut the flow out of Jackson Dam over the last several days, currently down to 2,850 cfs.. This, combined with the fact that all of the tributaries are dropping and clearing as well, has caused the color of the Snake to improve from brown to green over the last week. Continue reading

South Fork Report – 7.24.2011

The combined inflow into Palisades Reservoir is steadily dropping, and the Bureau of Rec has responded by dropping the release out of the dam. Currently it is at 17, 400 cfs. and we should continue to see this drop. If the the Bureau continues to drop the flow by 1,000 cfs. or so a day, we could be down to normal summer fishing flows on the South Fork within the week… Continue reading
